Last term we have been looking at Fairytales, Myths, Legends and Fables, and we explored the differences between them. The students had fun reading different stories and learning about various cultural myths about creation as well as being warned, through a Legend, about concentrating on what we are doing and not getting distracted (the legend of Icarus).  

Our final task for the term was to create a fractured fairytale. This means we had to choose a fairytale, change at least one part of the story, while still keeping the same idea. For example, Goldilocks and The Three Bears became The Girl and The Three Hippos.  

Everyone created a new fairytale. Thanks to Ms Kirk and her Grade 3/4 who listened to our stories and gave lots of positive feedback to the student’s.

I am so proud of the work and engagement Year 7 are demonstrating in English.
